Casa Cantarilla is an association of teachers in the arts and sciences. It is based at the Finca Tajaste, a restored farm house in a rural, non-tourist part of the spectacular island of Lanzarote. The finca has spectacular views of the sea and islands one way, volcanoes the other. The house has three comfortable rooms all en suite. The prices of our rooms include a Spanish breakfast - including home made produce, such as fig compote, cheese, and, sometimes, tortillas made with eggs from our own hens.
We are members of the Slow Food Society, and dinner, whenever you choose to eat with us, is made with vegetables from our own garden and local produce of all kinds, including local wine.
There is a jacuzzi and a plunge pool on the back patio for lazy afternoons and evenings. The house is full of books and music all of which you are welcome to borrow during your stay.
Good beaches, north, south and east are accessible - some within 20 minutes. We are ten minutes from the Timanfaya National Park, and within easy reach of most of the unique tourist sites on the island. We promise you a comfortable and interesting stay. We are also a perfect place for writers and artists in retreat from more northern winters.
We operate as an association, and our bed and breakfast guests are invited to join us for dinner as temporary members for the price of one euro per person.
